I ordered the 7x7 travel chess set as a gift for a friend and when it arrived I was impressed with the quality. The chess board was clearly hand made with lots of attention to detail and my friend loved it. I can’t imagine a better gift for someone who loves the game of chess and appreciates quality items that reflect honest and beautiful craftsmanship.I ended up calling the Hastha Kalalu to address a minor issue with the shipment (a few pieces were missing from the set when it arrived), and they went above and beyond to solve the problem in such a timely manner! Whereas I was expecting to encounter a bureaucratic corporation with a tedious process for submitting claims and rectifying issues, I spoke directly with the person running the store. Without hesitation, they admitted their mistake and shipped me replacement pieces within a day. I think that while little mistakes are inevitable when managing any online business, the differentiating factor comes with how those mistakes are addressed and learned from. Just from that one interaction, it was clear to me that the people at Hastha Kalalu are genuine, hard working, honest folk who care about their customers and the products they sell.
